0 Days

I realized about a week ago that my countdown was flawed. I blame the countdown app that I use on my iPod.

But anyways... I LEAVE TOMORROW AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I am freaking out a lot! I just got (basically) finished packing and I am so happy because my bag is 45 pounds and the weight limit is 50. Hopefully my makeup and pair of shorts don't weigh over 5 pounds cause then I'd be in trouble.

I'm not sure what to write about because lately I've just been doing the nitty gritty stuff that wouldn't be fun for you guys to read. I could talk about how extremely scared I am that I won't make friends, but that wouldn't be fun either. I have blogger's block! I say, when in doubt, picture it out. So here are a few beautiful black and white pictures of Paris!

I will try to blog as much as I can in Paris, but I have a feeling that I'm going to be very busy so I might not be able to a lot, if at all. But when I get back I will post pictures and stories from when I was there.

Alright, well this is it! I'm done with my preparation for Paris and am now just hoping for the best. Wish me luck!

11 Days

There are 11 days left and I am beginning to freak out. I knew this time would come eventually. I don't think I ever actually processed that I am going to Paris for 3 whole weeks. That is legitimately insane. To make my freak out a little more organized, here is a list of all of the things that I am worried about

  1. What if I don't make any friends?
  2. What if I get lost?
  3. What if I fail my classes?
  4. What if my roommates are terrible?
  5. What if I forget something important at home?
  6. What if all of my money gets stolen?
  7. What if the airline loses my bag?
  8. What if I get really homesick?
  9. What if I get sick?
  10. What if the program forgot about me and I have no where to go?
  11. What if my friends forget about me?
  12. What if the plane crashes?
  13. What if there's a terrorist attack?
  14. What if I get kidnapped like Taken except my dad isn't a major boss and can't come save me?
  15. What if I die?
I know that they get more ridiculous as the list goes on but isn't that what always happens when you have a panic attack?

It's a good thing that I don't have school anymore because I am going to be spending the next 11 days on travel websites making sure I have everything ready for my trip. Well I'm off to start that now! Hopefully I don't have a heart attack before I go about it...

P.S. I packed my new suitcase to see how much it fits and it fits even more than my last one. Woohoo!

22 Days

Jeez not long until Paris! Only 22 more days!

I almost have everything done that I have to have finished before Paris. Except school of course. But I have a new suitcase, I updated my passport, I found out about using my phone internationally, I am almost done with my summer work that is due while I'm there (ridiculous, I know), I have saved up some money, I'm in the process of getting an ATM card for over there, and I have gotten my new-old camera! The only thing left to do is some shopping. Here's a list of the few things I would like to buy before I go to Paris.
  1. Ballet Flats
  2. Leather Belt
  3. Simple White or Black Shirts
  4. Simple Black Heels
  5. More High-Wasted Shorts
I know I will be fine in Paris without these things, but I feel like they would be a good addition to my wardrobe over there.

Is there anything I'm forgetting to do?

27 Days

I have been going into New York City a lot lately, and it is getting me so excited for Paris. I just love the city atmosphere! And I found that I could fit in there pretty well, so I'm hoping I will be able to do the same in Paris. This morning I heard some people talking in French about how much they loved the city. And, I heard that on my way to get a delicious banana-nutella crepe. It was great!

Today I received another packet from Summer Study! It included stuff about my plane, my itinerary, and a whole bunch of stuff about the rules. Nothing is too strict, and I'm not usually a rebel, so I am perfectly fine with all of it! This is going to be so great!

For my birthday a few days ago I got a new suitcase and I am so happy! Although I loved my old one, it was ugly and was falling apart. But it held a ton of stuff so I'm hoping that this new one will fit just as much. It better... I need all of the space I can get!

I can't believe that there is less than a month until I leave! The next two weeks will be horrible because of school, but after that I'm done. I can't wait to be out of school and in Paris!!!

37 Days

Today I got a bit of disappointing news. Unfortunately, La Sorbonne is doing something with the classrooms that they use for our classes so I won't be studying there. They are moving all of the teachers and everything over to a different university in Paris. But, it is not in the middle of Paris like the Sorbonne. It stinks a little, but at least it's Paris!

My mom was angry about this so she called the program and they said that the location of the classes doesn't matter as much as we thought, because we thought that the classes were in the morning but they are really in the afternoon. So, I will be doing sightseeing in the morning, then heading over to classes, then going back to the hotel, then going out to do fun stuff in the night. Since I will be going back to the hotel after the classes anyways, the location doesn't matter as much. The university is a lot closer to the hotel than the Sorbonne, so that will be nice! Also at the new place there are sports facilities and other things that I think will be open to me which is nice so I won't have to sign up for a gym to exercise!

So it won't be exactly what I was expecting, but I can't complain! I will be in Paris!

45 Days

I have recently figured out what the effect used to make pictures seem miniature is and I love it. It is called tilt-shift and it is weird how well it works. Here are some pictures of Paris that seriously just look like little cities!

I just think that they all look so cool! *FYI these photos are not mine and I do not take credit for them. However with the pictures from my trip I will be doing the same thing!

Today I'm going to show you guys some of my possible outfit choices for Paris! 60 Days

Being sick sucks, but it gives me a lot of time to think. And when I have time to think, my mind always wanders to Paris. I've been thinking about how the Lizzie McGuire Movie and Monte Carlo have really set the bar high for my trip. Because of these movies I now expect to have a famous twin and end up going on a huge adventure that I could get in a lot of trouble for. So to my uber rich doppelgänger, make sure you have something fun planned for me. Yesterday I was in New York City with my sister and I had to take the train home by myself. So I was in Penn Station and about 15 minutes before my train got there I realized I had no idea where I was going and I started freaking out. The track that I was going to was literally right in front of me and I couldn't find it. I got on my train fine but it made me realize how incompetent I am going to be in Paris, where they don't even speak English. How am I going to make it? I'm going to have to study the Metro map before I go... Well Paris keeps getting closer and closer and I keep getting more and more excited! Exactly two months from now I will be on my way!

74 Days

Hello!

I have recently been exposed to the beauty of a website called Piccsy, and I absolutely love it. It is quite similar to Tumblr, but I like it a lot better. It has the most gorgeous, the most inspirational, and the most adorable pictures that I have come across. And, unlike Tumblr, it is based solely on art and quotes. So, no band, movie, or TV show blogs. Don't get me wrong, it has album covers and stuff of that sort, but usually only if it is artsy enough to comply with the site's standards.

How does this have to do with Paris?

Well I have found beautiful pictures of Paris and other french cities/actresses/food and although I have not dedicated my Piccsy account only for that (some of the other pictures were just too pretty not to repost), a good deal of it is!

If you are interested in this sort of thing I highly recommend it! I have been a bit obsessed with going on it lately... So I warn you about that.

C'est tout pour aujourd'hui!

80 Days

Wow! 100 days since I found out that I'm going to Paris. So crazy. And, today we got the final billing information from the program! Woohoo!!!

You know those days when you are just extremely happy for no exact reason? Well today is one of those days for me! It is beautiful out, there are only 80 days to Paris and 66 days until the last day of school, I ran today so I'm feeling good about myself, and my mom has dinner ready. There is only one song for this type of mood, and it is Love Today by Mika. It. Is. So. Happy. I love it so much because every time I listen to it I can't help but dance around like a crazy person.

It is very hard for me to sit and type this because I have it playing on infinite loop, so that's all for now!

Je vous adore!

83 Days

Wow, tht sounds crazy to say. 83 days. Weird. Lately I have been watching anything that is related at all to Paris. Midnight in Paris, Paris Je T'Aime, Monte Carlo, and even a documentary about Paris's trash. I think that I might be a bit obsessed. But, I must say, Midnight in Paris is actually brilliant! I don't know if it is just because it is set in Paris, but I think it is one of my favorite movies! Je l'aime! I am currently watching Paris Je T'aime, which is entirely in French. I feel very stupid because I barely understand any of what they are saying and I had to turn on the subtitles. Hopefully after my trip I will be able to manage a little better! This movie is really getting me in the mood for some crêpes! Maybe I will make some for a midnight snack? Bon idée?

90 Days!

OHHHH! WE'RE HALFWAY THERE! OHHH OHHH! LIVIN' ON A PRAYER!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDK9QqIzhwk

Sorry I couldn't help myself...

But I'm halfway to Paris!!! Ahhhh! The past 6 weeks have gone by so fast. It feels like just yesterday that I was in "Paris" in Disney. It's about 13 weeks until Paris, so hopefully that will go by quickly too! I sure hope so...

I have a few french songs that I would like to share with you guys. I like them a lot!

The first was shown to me by my sister Lauren a while ago. Its called Toi Plus Moi by Gregoire. The music video for it is so cute! Here's the link--

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOru9ITtVIg

The next was shown to me recently by my other sister Kaleigh. It's called Comme des Enfants by Coeur de Pirate. It is a gorgeous song. I love it so much.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egiMvgwJaUM

The third was actually shown to me by my history teacher. She shows us weird videos before we take a test so that we aren't nervous and this was one of them. It is very strange, and I do not understand it at all. I only watch the video when I'm in the mood to laugh. Honestly, I'm not fond of the music. But I am very jealous of their awesome dance moves.

I know I said I was going to blog a lot today cause it's half way (WOOHOO), but I've been really busy and I'm really tired so I'm going to end it here. Sorry guys!

Well Happy Halfway! Au Revoir!

100 DAYS!!!

Hi guys! Guess what! ONLY 100 DAYS TO PARIS!!! I am actually going crazy with excitement.

To celebrate the 100 day mark, I am going to try to make this post as long as possible! I might just put in random things to make it longer, cause I can't really think of one topic that I can go on about except for my excitement. But that wouldn't be very interesting for you guys.

Section 1- Classes
I have decided on taking the architecture class. It seems very interesting and fun, and is also relevant to Paris! If I do not get that class, I have put the fashion class as my second choice because we get to go out and it seems fun and not very hard! I have chosen to take the higher level of French. I really want to improve my French skills and this along with being immersed in French seems the best way to do it!

Section 2- Packing
So I already told you guys that somehow I magically was able to fit a ton of stuff into my bag, well now I'm going to tell you how! So my bag is not that that big (I think its around 2 ft x 3 ft 6 in x 1 ft), and it is not one of those Mary Poppins bags, but I fit everything in easily by making bundles of my clothes. It sounds weird, but it works!

This is how I do it. Usually what I do is I start with my pants, then my dresses, then my longer shirts, then my shorter shirts, then my shorts, and close it around a bag of toiletries or shoes. I don't keep my shirts unfolded like they have them in the picture though, I usually just fold them in half (down the center). Also, I put half of the clothes that I'm bringing in one bundle, and the other half in another. I have never tried to make a bunch of small ones, so I don't know if it works or not. But if you do two big bundles it leaves space in the cracks for shoes and socks and other things. It works really well! Another thing to save space is to stuff socks and underwear in your shoes. That way your shoes don't get all messed up.

Section 3- More Things I Want to do in Paris
  1. Buy a cheesy postcard and send it to a random address
  2. Do at least one crazy thing a day
  3. Make a stranger smile
  4. Don't get bored in a museum
  5. Pretend not to speak English
  6. Get lost and wander around
  7. Buy a rose at the Sacre Coeur
  8. Take a panoramic picture from the middle of the Champs Elysees
  9. Eat a fresh, warm croissant
  10. Lose a shoe
Section 4- My (Cheesy) Paris Dream
When I first started this blog I said that I would be sharing some of my Paris fantasies. Well, recently I've been having this reoccurring dream about Paris and I thought I'd share!

WARNING: This dream is extremely cheesy so if you don't like that stuff, I'd suggest that you skip over this section entirely.

So, in it I am standing in front of the Eiffel Tower with a few of my friends. We want to take a picture of ourselves so we resort to taking selfies. A cute boy with curly brown hair and gorgeous green eyes walks over and asks us if we would like him to take the picture for us. We happily accept and once the picture is over, we start up a conversation with him. We find out his name (which always changes each time I have the dream. It's been Nick, Luke, Harry, and others) and that he is visiting from England. We have to say au revoir, but make plans to meet up at a discotheque the next night. I won't bore you with the details but over the next few days, Nick (I'll just call him Nick for now) and I become good friends and end up meeting for lunch and dinner and for adventures. Then, our friendship quickly escalates to being more than that. But, knowing that I have to leave in a few weeks, Nick and I keep our feelings suppressed. So many things happen in this dream that I can't possibly write them, but one thing leads to another and Nick and I end up having a cute summer romance where we do all of the sappy, stereotypical couple things in Paris (dinner on the Seine, kissing under the Eiffel Tower, watching the Bastille Day fireworks, etc. etc.).

I know I am such a hopeless (helpless?) romantic but god I wish this dream comes true... I will do everything in my power (which honestly isn't much) to make this happen.

Section 5- Running
Recently I have been running and I absolutely love it! I was always the kind of person who hated running with a burning passion even though I come from a family of runners. But, I've wanted to lose a couple of pounds to get ready for Paris so I decided just to get out there and try it! I'm not running a lot, just 1-2 miles every other day or so, but it makes me feel so good! I have officially become a running enthusiast. I can tell that if I keep it up I will be in shape in no time!

Section 6- Packing List
Ok, since I gave you guys that awful packing list that I was sent, I decided to share with you guys my own! I made some major improvements to theirs and I am nearly satisfied! Here it is:

If I decide to I will probably just work on that over the course of the next 10 days and not post anything until then.

Bye! HAPPY 100 DAYS!!!
